The seasons of our lives

A friend asked me if I could write in english so here goes.
As I start to listen more deeply to life I find myself more willing to stay in different kinds of energy. An analogy that I find useful is the seasons:
Winter – Time for rest and rejuvenation, the hermit, contemplation
Spring – Time for rebirth, a new start
Summer – Strong energies, vitality, stepping forth, a time with no shadows
Autumn – Transition, going into slumber, recounting our joys after the plentiful summer
Previously in my life my activity level and food intake looked pretty much the same during all the season. Now I find myself listening a lot more to my body that guides me into habits that are more in sync with the seasons. I believe we all have this inherently like in wintertime it’s resting time, souptime and a time to go inward. To take that time is a precious gift to oneself instead of being absorbed in the constant buzzing of the external world.
Another aspect of the season analogy is what inner season I’m going through. If I am in a transitional phase it can help me to eat light foods so the energy can move through me instead of being stuck in the body. Now during the wintertime I find it harder to go as deep in my breathing exercises as I did during the autumn. It’s something in me that just can’t ”die” as deep. If I am open to the possibility of being related to the season I can simply let it go and relax into when it is time to go deeper again the opportunity will be given. In any case I do not judge myself a harshly as I used to and it’s quite a relief.
If we stay keenly awake we can even see that different part of our life are going through different seasons all the time and different energies need to be applied to smoothly transition from say summer to autumn (to let the old go). With this said the high energies of the summer can be very intoxicating but if you keep running you are bound to hit a wall. Therefore I think that the contrasting experiences and energies serves an important purpose. After we fligh high we need to come down and ground ourselves.
Hope you have enjoyed this rant and if you are an english speaker out there that find this useful, tell me. Otherwise it’s a wee bit easier to write in swedish. Also if you are a swedish speaker that says no way, give me a holler and I’ll feel into it. Love!
P.S. We talk about seasons of life in our podcast 'Heal your shit':
